Our lessons are planned individually for each student, ensuring that your learning needs are expertly met.

About the Lessons

Our lessons are planned individually for each student, ensuring that your learning needs are expertly met. We will take into account your age group, interests, preferences, strengths and areas for improvement, and plan each lesson to build on your learning and your confidence.

Lessons are 25 minutes long. For adults or older children, a 50 minute lesson can be arranged by booking two adjacent lessons slots.

Lessons are recorded so that you can re-watch them whenever you like, as often as you’d like. Our qualified, experienced teacher can provide homework and extension activities for you to practise and apply your developing skills. Homework is only set if requested.

You will have direct contact with your teacher, allowing you to build a good student-teacher friendship and providing frequent opportunities for authentic language use and conversation. We believe that using your English in context is essential in helping you to build confidence and fluency, so we encourage you to contact your teacher often. Unlike other online language schools, we limit the number of students we work with to allow us to maintain our bespoke and personalised service. Our students are what make our job so exciting, so they are at the centre of everything we do.

In addition to individually developed lesson content, as part of each lesson we use a structured curriculum created by leading experts at National Geographic Learning. Read on to learn about the curriculum content we use for different age groups.

Children’s Lessons

Children’s Lessons

We know that your children already work hard and need time to play and socialise. That’s why our lessons do just that – English lessons are a treat that your child will look forward to, offering a chance to make good friends with their UK based English teacher.

Children of all ages learn best when they’re having fun, so lessons are structured to include varied and engaging activities, where your child is guided to speak, listen, read and write in English. They will develop confidence in English, and all aspects of life, by learning alongside a patient and experienced British teacher one-to-one.

There is no minimum age for our classes, as we believe that exposure to a foreign language can be beneficial from any age. We simply ask that parents sit with younger children who may need help to stay focused. Your teacher will have experience working with young children and will be able to use toys, videos, songs and games to keep the lesson interesting.

For older children and teenagers, the curriculum from National Geographic develops critical thinking, problem solving and encourages independence and discussion. This means that your child will learn vital life skills in addition to their English Language learning, and all while having fun!

Very young learners (2-6)

Very young learners (2-6)

For our youngest learners, we use National Geographic Learning’s ‘Welcome to Our World’ series. The curriculum uses songs and games to engage young children and teach them a solid foundation in basic English.

Why we love this series

We particularly love the songs from around the world. Singing along with our students is lots of fun!

Remember, we don’t use static copies of the workbooks – all courses are presented in an interactive online classroom, incorporating games, activities and videos.

Young Learners (around 6 – 12 years old)

Young Learners (around 6 – 12 years old)

For young learners (around ages 6 to 12), we use National Geographic Learning’s ‘Our World’ series. The fun, interactive lessons incorporate games, songs and activities and cover the four main areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking.

Why we love this series

We love the mix of instruction, video, song and games that keep the course interesting and exciting. We love teaching this course!

Remember, we don’t use static copies of the workbooks – all courses are presented in an interactive online classroom, incorporating games, activities and videos.

Teenage Learners (around 13 - 18 years old)

Teenage Learners (around 13 – 18 years old)

For teenage and young adult learners (around ages 13 to 18), we use National Geographic Learning’s ‘Perspectives’ series. The carefully-guided language lessons, real-world stories, and video clips motivate learners to think creatively and communicate effectively.

Every unit explores one idea from different perspectives, giving learners opportunities to look at the world in new ways, developing their own opinions and ideas and expressing them confidently in English.

Exam-style tasks help to build confidence for school or international examinations.

Why we love this series

e love that the units look at the same topic from different points of view. This really encourages students to develop and express their own ideas and thoughts, rather than learning static lists of vocabulary from text books. We also love the use of real video clips by native speakers on a range of interesting, contemporary topics.

Remember, we don’t use static copies of the workbooks – all courses are presented in an interactive online classroom, incorporating activities and videos.

Adult Lessons

Lessons for adults (around 18 years and over)

Courseware designed for adults at all levels: step into the future with confidence!

Whether you’re learning English from scratch or building on a solid foundation, it’s not only children who learn better when having fun – lessons should be comfortable and enjoyable for adults too! Your experienced, friendly English teacher will adapt the lesson pace and style to suit your needs and your learning goals, and select an appropriate curriculum designed for adult learners. We look forward to showing you just what you are capable of!

Lessons are one-to-one and can be booked at times that fit around your busy lifestyle. They can be as structured or informal as you like and will be adapted to meet your preferences. If you feel more comfortable learning alongside a friend or family member, then this can also be arranged.

For adult learners of all levels, we use the Life (2nd edition) series from National Geographic learning.

This series uses real life topics along with beautiful photography to enable authentic language learning in an enjoyable context. An extensive critical thinking syllabus encourages learners to develop well-informed opinions. Updated National Geographic photographs and videos engage learners by connecting them to people and places from around the world.
