Lessons for Children
Children’s Lessons
We know that your children already work hard and need time to play and socialise. That’s why our lessons do just that – English lessons are a treat that your child will look forward to, offering a chance to make good friends with their U.K. based English teacher.
Children of all ages learn best when they’re having fun, so lessons are structured to include varied and engaging activities. Your child will be guided to speak, listen, read and write in English. They will develop confidence in English, and all aspects of life, by learning alongside a patient and experienced British teacher one-to-one.
For older children and teenagers, the curriculum from National Geographic develops critical thinking, problem solving and encourages independence and discussion. This means that your child will learn vital life skills in addition to their English Language learning, and all while having fun!
Very young learners (2-6)
For our youngest learners, we use National Geographic Learning’s ‘Welcome to Our World’ series. The curriculum uses songs and games to engage young children and teach them a solid foundation in basic English. Each unit focuses on a vocabulary topic and an introduction to grammar through ‘language in use’ – teaching key sentence structures. Students quickly build the confidence and vocabulary to communicate and play with their teacher in English.
Many of our youngest learners begin to develop a clear British pronunciation as they build fluency throughout this course.

Why we love this series
We particularly love the songs from around the world. Singing along with our students is lots of fun! We don’t use static copies of the course books – all courses are presented in an interactive online classroom, incorporating games, activities and videos. The software used in lessons covers the student book and workbook – there are no extra books to buy and no hidden costs.
Young Learners (around 6 – 12 years old)
For young learners (around ages 6 to 12), we use National Geographic Learning’s ‘Our World’ series. The fun, interactive lessons incorporate games, songs and activities and cover the four main areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking. The course features interesting reading and images from National Geographic and students are encouraged to discuss, develop and present their own ideas in English as their language skill develops.
The interesting topics included in the course mean that children learn science and geography alongside their English studies. The course encourages an understanding of worldwide cultures and global issues, whilst also focussing on communication and soft skills as well as building confidence. It’s a comprehensive all-round course that will benefit your child in much more than their English studies.

Why we love this series
We love the mix of topics and games that keep the course interesting and exciting. Students are encouraged to develop critical thinking skills and to express their own thoughts and opinions in English. If your child loves to ask questions, then they’ll love this course:
- did you know that spiders don’t have ears but hear with the hairs on their legs? Do you think sounds are loud or quiet to a spider?
- did you know that a giraffe’s tongue is so long that they can use it to clean their ears? How far can you stretch your tongue?
- do you know what happens when a tornado forms?
- do you know where and when chocolate was invented?
- would you rather have a smelly eastern snake-necked turtle in your home as a pet, or have a stinky, meat-eating rafflesia flower in your garden? Why?
These are just some of the topics that we talk about with our students – we love teaching this course!
We don’t use static copies of the course books – all courses are presented in an interactive online classroom, incorporating games, activities and videos. The software used in lessons covers the student book, workbook and grammar book – there are no extra books to buy and no hidden costs. Students also have access to the National Geographic Learning Online Practice course for their level, at no extra cost.
